I learned a sobering lesson while marketing Final Jeopardy : It was far easier to attract a crowd on Facebook than on my own blog. Lots of journalism businesses have discovered the same thing. And now along comes Scott Rosenberg with a very good post on why they should watch out. In sum, Facebook’s a great place to create a community, but how is that community going to be used down the road by the people running Facebook? No one knows.
Here’s Rosenberg’s analogy:
